Connecting individuals and resources to support projects that enhance the lives of everyone in Kalamunda.

Kalamunda Community Matters is a Sub Fund of Fremantle Foundation a registered charity supporting dozens of philanthropic activities throughout Western Australia

Fremantle Foundation is a registered charity which exists to help improve the quality of life in the Western Australian community. They do this by encouraging philanthropy, developing perpetual flexible endowments and serving as a coordinator of charitable activities and promoting the efficient management of charitable funds.

All donations to Kalamunda Community Matters are paid directly to our account with Fremantle Foundation and they have provided a range of administrative services and advice which have enabled us to put our vision into action.

ABOUT US

Kalamunda is a unique and special place, home to remarkable people, beautiful landscapes and a deep sense of community connection. For those who live here, there is a shared desire to protect these assets and build upon them so they can be enjoyed by future generations.

The idea of establishing Kalamunda Community Matters grew from this shared vision. Established as a sub fund of Fremantle Foundation, we will pool local generosity to facilitate coordinated investment and grant-making dedicated to meeting the needs of Kalamunda’s communities and organisations. What makes our approach distinctive is a commitment to promoting and mobilising not only Treasure (donations), but also Talent (skills and expertise) and Time (volunteer effort), recognising that building a stronger community requires all three.

Kalamunda Community Matters exists for the residents of the City of Kalamunda, and focuses on identifying and harnessing human, financial and other resources to strengthen the capacity and contributions of individuals, organisations and their networks.

We seek to connect our communities to citizenship and philanthropy to create a caring, engaged and resilient community …forever…by looking forward and giving back

OUR VISION

To create strong and thriving Kalamunda communities where everyone can contribute. Whether through their Treasure (donations), Talent (skills and expertise), or Time (volunteering), we aim to create positive change and leave a legacy for future generations.

OUR PURPOSE

To bring people together to support the causes and projects that matter most to our community, connecting local generosity, skills and volunteer spirit with the opportunities, assets and needs of our community.

OUR VALUES

Integrity – Safe Hands

We act with honesty transparency, and accountability in everything we do. The community trusts us to be careful stewards of their contributions, whether money, skills, or time, and to ensure these resources create genuine, lasting impact

Contribution – Everyone Has Something To Offer

We believe that every person can play a role in strengthening Kalamunda. Whether through financial support, volunteering, or sharing skills and expertise, each contribution matters and helps build a stronger, more connected community.

Inclusion – Diverse Views Produce Better Results

We value and seek out a wide range of perspectives, recognising that the best ideas and solutions emerge when people from different backgrounds and experiences work together

Collaboration – Working Together for Greater Impact

We meaningfully engage with our community, partners, and stakeholders to maximise giving and impact. We know that collective action achieves more than any one group or individual can achieve alone.

Continuous Improvement – Always Striving To Do Better

We reflect on our work, learn from experience, and adapt our approach to meet the changing needs of our community. This ensures we remain relevant, effective and forward-looking in delivering our mission.
